Northern Chester County Sportsmen’s Club hosted an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Training class yesterday. Dan McMonigle and I led the class with assists from Jim, Brian, George and Linda. We had 13 first-timers and 4 current Rifle and Shotgun instructors adding to their credentials. 4 of the new instructors will be working as part of the Southeast PA NRA Women on Target program bringing quality instruction to local women starting out on their journey of firearms knowledge.
One of the new Instructors is also part of the DC Project, a phenomenal group of women that advocate for women to preserve their rights to protect their families.
The instructors got to handle 14 different styles of handguns from flintlocks to percussion revolvers, single and double action, and even revolvers with safeties. They also handled various semi-auto actions from pre WWI Colts up through the current RDS equipped pistols.
Excellent! Looking forward to the working the Women on Target programs again.
This is great news! Thank you Frank and your team of dedicated trainers/RSOs. We need more people working to ingrain and enhance safety within the ranks of the shooting community.
