Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (USA, Ret) Answers the Call to Serve the National Rifle Association Members
Houston, TX.—May 9, 2022— Lieutenant Colonel Allen West has answered the call from the group of current and former NRA Directors as well as a number of concerned life members led by current Board member Judge Phillip Journey, former Board members Rocky Marshall and Bill Dailey and Board candidate Frank Tait to stand for election as Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association at the NRA Board meeting on Monday, May 30, 2002.
Col. West said, "In the military, we have a saying, it is that Warriors move to the sound of the guns. It is with sincere humility that I have consented to my nomination to be Executive Vice President of the National Rifle Association. History has taught us that when the people are disarmed, they are subjugated, enslaved to tyranny and totalitarianism. The Nation's oldest civil rights institution is the National Rifle Association. I would be honored to secure that legacy going forward for future generations of legal, law-abiding American citizens, and gun owners. My goals are to restore the honor, integrity, and character of this venerable organization along with refocusing on our core competencies, shooting sports/marksmanship, and defense of our Second Amendment constitutional right."
Many in the second amendment community reached out to encourage Col. West to accept the call including former NRA Board members Richard Carone and Joseph Olson, former NRA General Counsel Secretary Edward James Land Jr., former NRA Assistant General Counsel Thomas M. Moncure, Jr., and leaders from the industry including President of Luth-AR & Founder of D.P.M.S/Panther Arms Randy Luth.
Former NRA Director Rocky Marshall commented “The management of the NRA will be replaced at the annual meeting in Houston or by the New York courts in the upcoming trial. Colonel Allen West is a man of integrity, honesty, and humility and will lead the NRA with the leadership skills that all NRA members will be proud to support.”
Added:
"This is Edward James Land, Jr. I’m the former Secretary of the National Rifle Association of America.
It has come to my attention that some current and former NRA board members are using my name to promote Allen West for Executive Vice President for the National Rifle Association of America.
That is false and done without my authorization. Furthermore, I fully support my friend Wayne LaPierre who’s dedicated his life to the NRA and the Second Amendment.
I call on all board members to vote for Wayne. Those who are spreading rumors should immediately cease and desist using my name."
Frank this is good news! Thanks for sharing.
We have learned recently Buford James (Jim) Land Ret. Army Ranger & NRA Endowment member who enthusiastically supports Allen West to replace Wayne LaPierre for EVP of the NRA is not Edward James (Jim) Land Jr. who was a former NRA General Counsel. We apologize and regret any confusion this may have caused.
Also, we encourage Edward James (Jim) Land Jr. to please reconsider his support if he would like to join other former NRA Directors in saving the NRA from the self-dealing management practices of Wayne LaPierre and the upcoming legal consequences.
