NY Court Rules Out Dissolution of the NRA & settlement in AcMac case
The Death Penalty for the NRA is off the table.
I think that the interventions by Mario Aguirre and me and the intervention by former NRA Director Rocky Marshall, while unsuccessful, had an impact on the Judge’s thinking and these actions may have helped stop the dissolution of the NRA.
The indispensable NRA In Danger blog has a great summary of the Judge’s ruling yesterday.
John Richardson at the Only Guns and Money blog has additional details and a link to the full court order.
Dan Zimmerman at Ammoland has the key for what’s next “While the NRA as a whole may no longer be in jeopardy, other targets of the AG’s investigation and lawsuit such as LaPierre and a host of current and former officers and directors still have much to be concerned about.” As of the hearing on Rocky’s motion a couple weeks ago, this case is expected to go to trial in the summer.
As I write this news broke that the NRA v Ackerman McQueen case has reached settlement without going to trial. No details are available and the settlement will likely be confidential. John Richardson at the Only Guns and Money blog has details and a link to the joint filing with the court.
Please continue to share the message of Reform for the NRA Board.
There are no what's, mayhaps or buts about it. You, Mario and Rocky's interventions were utterly critical and decisive in stopping "the dissolution of the NRA." You guys were the tip of the spear that got that job done and have bulleted you on my ballot for Director on the NRA Board.
Glad we will have a chance to turn the ship around!
